What PlatformDTC checkout offers in every country

Every PlatformDTC store takes cards through Stripe's card form, charged on the store's own Stripe account, with Apple Pay and Google Pay at the top of checkout wherever the shopper's device supports them. All three work for subscriptions. The store's own PayPal shows when the market is priced in one of PayPal's 22 currencies.

Klarna and Afterpay appear on one-time orders only, in the shopper's own currency, when the store's Stripe account country qualifies. Bank redirects, vouchers and local wallets such as Pix, iDEAL, BLIK, UPI, PayNow or TWINT are not offered today.

Rules that decide what a shopper sees

PayPal charges in AUD, BRL, CAD, CZK, DKK, EUR, HKD, HUF, ILS, JPY, MXN, TWD, NZD, NOK, PHP, PLN, GBP, SGD, SEK, CHF, THB and USD. A market priced in another currency, such as Korean won or Indian rupees, hides the PayPal button. Chinese yuan and Malaysian ringgit are left out because PayPal takes them only on a PayPal account in China or Malaysia.

PlatformDTC shows Klarna to shoppers in 23 countries. Inside the EEA, the UK and Switzerland a store can sell to shoppers in any of them; in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand store and shopper must be in the same country. Afterpay (Clearpay in the UK) is domestic only, in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK and the US.

  • Klarna cart limits: $1–$10,000 (US), £1–£4,000, €1–€10,000 (€5,000 in the Netherlands; €4,000 in France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Portugal), A$1–A$4,000, C$1–C$17,500, NZ$10–NZ$2,000, CHF 1–5,000
  • Afterpay limits: A$1–A$4,000, C$1–C$2,000, NZ$1–NZ$4,000, £1–£1,200, $1–$2,000
  • Neither Klarna nor Afterpay ever appears on a subscription cart

Frequently asked questions

Which payment methods work in every country on PlatformDTC?
Cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay. They show on every PlatformDTC checkout where the shopper's device and card support them, and they work for subscriptions.
Why doesn't PayPal show for some of my markets?
PlatformDTC's PayPal button charges in 22 currencies. If a market is priced in another currency, such as Korean won, Indian rupees or Turkish lira, PayPal is hidden. Pricing that market in a PayPal currency brings it back.
Does PlatformDTC offer local methods like Pix, iDEAL or UPI?
Not today. PlatformDTC checkout offers cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Klarna and Afterpay. Each country page says which local methods are missing and what shoppers there can use instead.
What is DTCPay?
PlatformDTC's own one-tap checkout. A returning shopper whose card is saved in the PlatformDTC network can pay in one tap. It replaces Stripe's Link, which PlatformDTC checkout doesn't show.
