How do New Zealanders pay online?
Checked
New Zealanders pay online mainly by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal. Buy now, pay later comes through Afterpay, which Stripe supports for New Zealand stores selling to New Zealand shoppers. For repeat billing, New Zealand BECS Direct Debit lets a store with a New Zealand Stripe account debit a customer's local bank account under a signed mandate.

Direct debit in New Zealand
The store collects the customer's bank account and a mandate authorising debits; Stripe can collect both for the store. It is reusable, so it suits repeat billing, and the minimum is NZ$0.50.
Pay later for local stores
On PlatformDTC, Afterpay and Klarna in New Zealand work only for stores based there selling to local shoppers in NZ dollars. PlatformDTC keeps both off subscription carts.
