How do Hong Kong shoppers pay online?
Checked
Hong Kong shoppers pay online by card and with phone wallets, and move money with the Faster Payment System (FPS). The Hong Kong Monetary Authority launched FPS in September 2018; all banks and e-wallet operators in Hong Kong can join, it runs 24 hours a day, and payers can use the recipient's mobile number or email address, in Hong Kong dollars or renminbi. Octopus, known for transit, also issues cards for online shopping and QR payments.

FPS in plain words
FPS connects banks and e-wallets so money moves at once, any time of day. The HKMA says payers can enter a mobile phone number or email address instead of account details.
Cards on Stripe in Hong Kong
Stripe accounts in Hong Kong can accept UnionPay and JCB as well as Visa, Mastercard and American Express, and JCB 3D Secure is supported there.
