How do Argentines pay online?
Checked
Argentines pay online through Mercado Pago, by card and with bank-app QR payments. Mercado Pago's checkout accepts the shopper's Mercado Pago balance, credit and debit cards, instalments without a card, and cash at Rapipago and Pago Fácil. Since November 2021, the central bank's Transferencias 3.0 lets one QR code be paid from any wallet or bank app. MODO, built into 23 banks' apps, pays in shops and online by QR or NFC.

What PlatformDTC does
PlatformDTC checkout does not offer Mercado Pago, MODO or Transferencias 3.0 QR today. Argentine shoppers can use the card form, Apple Pay or Google Pay; PayPal can't charge in Argentine pesos, so it shows only when the store prices in a PayPal currency such as US dollars.
Interoperable QR
The Banco Central de la República Argentina announced on 29 November 2021 that Transferencias 3.0 was fully running, with QR codes payable from any digital wallet or bank app.
Mercado Pago and MODO
Mercado Pago's Checkout Pro has shoppers pay inside Mercado Pago. MODO needs no separate app: it lives inside apps from banks such as Banco Nación, Galicia, BBVA, Santander and Macro.
