How do Vietnamese shoppers pay online?
Checked
Vietnamese shoppers pay with instant bank transfers and the MoMo wallet as well as cards. NAPAS, the national payment corporation, runs NAPAS 247 fast transfers; with VietQR the customer scans a QR code to send money in real time, 24/7, to other member banks, each transfer under 500 million dong. MoMo, licensed for e-wallet and payment gateway services, is used for bills, tickets, e-commerce and in-store payments.

What PlatformDTC does
PlatformDTC checkout does not offer VietQR or MoMo today. Vietnamese shoppers can use the card form, Apple Pay or Google Pay; PayPal can't charge in dong, so it shows only when the store prices in a PayPal currency such as US dollars.
VietQR and NAPAS 247
NAPAS manages the national financial switching system. NAPAS 247 lets customers send and receive money at once by card or bank account, and VietQR adds a scannable code.
MoMo
MoMo now calls itself an AI-powered financial assistant, beyond a wallet. Its licensed services include e-wallet, bill collection and payment gateway services.
