How do Swiss shoppers pay online?
Checked
Swiss shoppers pay online with TWINT, a popular mobile payment approved in a TWINT app tied to their Swiss bank. On a computer they scan a QR code; on a phone they switch to the app. To accept TWINT a store must price in Swiss francs and ship to Switzerland, with payments from CHF 0.50 to CHF 5,000. Cards, PayPal and Klarna's pay later and pay in 3 are also common.

What PlatformDTC does
PlatformDTC checkout does not offer TWINT today. Swiss shoppers can pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal in francs, or Klarna on one-time orders from CHF 1 to CHF 5,000 when the store's Stripe account is in the EEA, UK or Switzerland.
What TWINT asks of a store
TWINT has different apps depending on the shopper's bank, but the flow is the same: scan or switch, then approve. Stripe requires prices in CHF by the checkout page and, for physical goods, shipping to Switzerland.
Klarna for Swiss shoppers
Klarna lets Swiss shoppers pay later in 30 days (CHF 1–1,000) or in three parts (CHF 1–5,000). Because Switzerland is inside Klarna's cross-border area, an EU or UK store charging in francs can offer it too.
