How do Italian shoppers pay online?
Checked
Italian shoppers pay online by card and PayPal, and with home-grown phone wallets. Satispay, which Stripe calls popular with Italian customers, sends a payment request to the shopper's app after they enter a phone number or scan a QR code; Satispay's site shows 6.5 million customers, without a date. BANCOMAT Pay lets people pay online and in stores from the BANCOMAT app or their bank's app. Klarna offers pay later, pay in 3 and financing in Italy.

Italy's phone wallets
With Satispay, the shopper approves the payment inside the Satispay app. Satispay says it has more than 450,000 partner shops, in stores and online. BANCOMAT Pay works from the BANCOMAT app or the shopper's bank app and can also send money to contacts.
Klarna in Italy
Klarna's Italian options include pay later, pay in 3 and financing. PlatformDTC follows Klarna's Italian limit and shows it on carts up to €4,000, never on subscriptions.
