How do South Korean shoppers pay online?
Checked
South Korean shoppers pay online with locally issued Korean cards and with domestic wallets. Stripe describes Kakao Pay, Naver Pay and PAYCO as popular local payment methods for South Korea-based customers, and supports Samsung Pay as a local method too. Naver Pay shoppers can also spend Naver Pay points. For each of these, the shopper is redirected to Stripe's local processing partner to authenticate, then returned to the store. All are charged in Korean won.

What PlatformDTC does
PlatformDTC checkout does not offer Kakao Pay, Naver Pay, PAYCO, Samsung Pay or Stripe's Korean-cards redirect today. Korean shoppers can use the card form, Apple Pay or Google Pay; PayPal can't charge in won, so it shows only when the store prices in a PayPal currency such as US dollars.
How Korean methods work on Stripe
Each Korean method sends the shopper to Stripe's local processor partner to authenticate and authorize, then back to the store. Stripe accounts in much of Europe, Hong Kong, Japan and the US can accept them, all in won; Kakao Pay isn't available to Singapore accounts.
Pricing in won
PlatformDTC's PayPal button charges in 22 currencies and won isn't one of them, so a market priced in won hides PayPal. Cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay still show.
