How do Chileans pay?
Checked
Chileans pay most often by debit card: the Banco Central de Chile's ENUPE 2025 survey found 81% use it, ahead of cash at 64%, and debit leads for amounts above CLP 10,000. For payments between people, electronic transfers took 58% of preferences. Online stores also take bank transfers through services like Khipu, a Chilean company that settles transfers in seconds from any bank, prepaid account or wallet.

What PlatformDTC does
PlatformDTC checkout takes Chilean credit and debit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay; bank-transfer checkouts such as Khipu are not offered today. PayPal can't charge in Chilean pesos, so it shows only when the store prices in a PayPal currency such as US dollars.
What the central bank's survey shows
ENUPE 2025, published by the Banco Central de Chile in May 2026, puts the debit card first among ways to pay. That makes a card form the most important part of a checkout for Chilean shoppers.
Khipu
Khipu takes payments by bank transfer without cards or redirects and has plugins for WooCommerce, Magento 2, PrestaShop, VTEX and Jumpseller.
