What PlatformDTC does

PlatformDTC does not connect to Braintree. On its Authorize.Net rail a refund is allowed only once the charge has settled, and an unsettled charge is voided instead, for the full amount only.

Why it happens

Refunding more than was charged, or a partial refund on a card whose bank only accepts full reversals.

What the store can do

Refund an amount no larger than the original. If partial refunds are refused, consider a full refund and a new charge.

For developers

Braintree returns processor_response_code 2054 with processor_response_text “Reversal amount does not match authorization amount” and processor_response_type “hard_declined” on the Transaction object.
