What PlatformDTC does

PlatformDTC does not connect to Braintree, so this account-feature error has no counterpart there. On PlatformDTC's Stripe rail, a fault on the account side rather than the card (a revoked key, lost access to the store's account, an outage) is not booked as the customer's decline: the renewal stays due, is re-charged by a 15-minute sweep once fixed, and the subscriber gets no “payment failed” email.

Why it happens

The request included data or a flow (3D Secure, Level 2/3 data) that your merchant account or processor is not set up for.

What the store can do

Contact Braintree support if you believe your account should accept this kind of transaction, and remove the unsupported fields meanwhile.

For developers

Braintree returns processor_response_code 2023 with processor_response_text “Processor Does Not Support This Feature” and processor_response_type “hard_declined” on the Transaction object.
