What PlatformDTC does
PlatformDTC does not connect to Braintree. On its checkout the order total is always priced on the server, never taken from the shopper's browser, so an amount the bank questions is the amount the store set.
Why it happens
The bank could not process the amount, for example because it falls outside what the card allows.
What the store can do
Confirm the amount and currency are what you intended, then suggest another payment method.
For developers
Braintree returns processor_response_code 2027 with processor_response_text “Set Up Error – Amount” and processor_response_type “hard_declined” on the Transaction object.
