What does Braintree 2018 “Cardholder Stopped All Billing” mean?
Checked
Braintree 2018 “Cardholder Stopped All Billing” means the cardholder asked their bank to cancel a recurring payment or subscription. It is a hard decline and Visa category 1, so never retry the card. Reach out to the customer: they likely want to cancel, and further attempts only invite disputes.

What PlatformDTC does
PlatformDTC does not connect to Braintree. Stripe's revocation_of_all_authorizations (Visa R3) is the same order; PlatformDTC never retries it, holds the subscription and asks the customer to update the payment method rather than burning retry attempts.
Why it happens
The customer revoked every recurring authorization for your business at their bank, usually because they want the subscription to end.
What the store can do
Stop billing the card and contact the customer. If they want to keep the subscription, they must give consent again with a payment method.
For developers
Braintree returns processor_response_code 2018 with processor_response_text “Cardholder Stopped All Billing” and processor_response_type “hard_declined” on the Transaction object. Braintree maps it to Visa category 1 (issuer will never approve): Visa fines every retry of the same card.
