GrabPay for online stores: how it works in Malaysia and Singapore
Checked
GrabPay is the wallet in Grab's app, used in Southeast Asia. Shoppers keep a balance in GrabPay; at checkout they are redirected to GrabPay, confirm with a one-time password and come back to the store. Through Stripe it is domestic only: businesses and customers in Malaysia or Singapore, paying in ringgit or Singapore dollars. GrabPay has no chargebacks, refunds have a 90-day window, and recurring payments are not supported.

What PlatformDTC does
PlatformDTC checkout does not offer GrabPay today. Shoppers in Malaysia and Singapore can pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, and with PayPal on orders priced in Singapore dollars or another PayPal currency.
How a shopper pays with GrabPay
The shopper picks GrabPay and is sent to GrabPay in their browser or app, where they confirm with a one-time password. The session times out after 15 minutes of inactivity, and three wrong passwords fail the payment. They then return to the store, which shows whether the payment worked.
What it means for your store
Shoppers approve each payment in GrabPay, so GrabPay has no chargeback process and money is never pulled from your balance for a dispute. A customer who contacts GrabPay may be sent back to you for a refund. GrabPay refunds can't be cancelled once sent, and GrabPay can't be saved for later charges, so it doesn't suit subscriptions.
