What PlatformDTC does
PlatformDTC does not connect to Braintree. On its Stripe checkout PlatformDTC decides retries from both Stripe's label and the raw issuer code, so any refusal the bank marks as final stops renewal retries and sends the subscriber a link to update the card.
Why it happens
The chip on the card applied the bank's offline rules and refused.
What the store can do
Ask for another card, or for the shopper to check with the bank.
For developers
Braintree returns processor_response_code 2104 with processor_response_text “Offline Issuer Declined” and processor_response_type “soft_declined” on the Transaction object.
