Braintree · Decline codes
What does Braintree 2109-2999 “Processor Declined” mean?
Checked
Braintree codes 2109-2999 “Processor Declined” are a catch-all range: the shopper's bank is unwilling to accept the transaction, and the customer needs to contact their bank for details. Braintree types the range soft, so a later attempt can work, but only the bank knows the reason. Offer another payment method meanwhile.

What PlatformDTC does
PlatformDTC does not connect to Braintree. A reasonless refusal on its Stripe checkout is generic_decline: one renewal retry after 48–72 hours, then a request for a new card; at checkout PayPal card fields can be offered if the store set that backup.
Why it happens
Braintree reserves the range for processor declines without a more specific code.
What the shopper can do
Call the bank or try another card or PayPal.
What the store can do
Show a friendly decline message and offer PayPal or another card. Space out subscription retries.
