What does Braintree 2062 “Invalid Tax Amount” mean?
Checked
Braintree 2062 “Invalid Tax Amount” is typed soft. Braintree's guidance says there may be an issue with the card or a temporary problem at the bank: have the shopper try again, and if it persists, ask for another card or payment method. The response text also points at the tax amount sent, so check that field too.

What PlatformDTC does
PlatformDTC does not connect to Braintree. Its checkout prices every order from the cart on PlatformDTC's own servers and never takes an amount from the shopper's browser, so the totals sent to the processor are the ones the store set.
Why it happens
The tax value sent with the transaction was not accepted, or the bank had a temporary problem.
What the store can do
Check the tax amount your integration sends, then retry once.
For developers
Braintree returns processor_response_code 2062 with processor_response_text “Invalid Tax Amount” and processor_response_type “soft_declined” on the Transaction object.
