Braintree · Decline codes
What does Braintree 2048 “Invalid Amount” mean?
Checked
Braintree 2048 “Invalid Amount” means the authorized amount was zero, unreadable or over the allowed limit. It is a soft decline. Make sure the amount is greater than zero and correctly formatted, then try again. It is almost always an integration or pricing issue rather than the shopper's card.

What PlatformDTC does
PlatformDTC does not connect to Braintree. Stripe also has an invalid_amount code, which PlatformDTC never moves to a backup processor at checkout, since the amount, not the card, has to change.
Why it happens
A zero total, a badly formatted number, or an amount above what the account or card allows.
What the store can do
Check the order total and how your integration formats it. Contact Braintree if a valid amount is still refused.
For developers
Braintree returns processor_response_code 2048 with processor_response_text “Invalid Amount” and processor_response_type “soft_declined” on the Transaction object.
