What PlatformDTC does
For Checkout.com 2009G, PlatformDTC's checkout does not offer PayPal card fields or any backup processor. Unlisted codes never reroute, because guessing wrong costs more than the one recovery it might win. A subscription renewal declined with 2009G is never retried: the subscription is held past due and the customer is emailed a link to add a new card.
Why it happens
Many banks let customers freeze a card or block online, foreign or recurring payments. That self-set block refused this one.
What the shopper can do
Unfreeze the card or allow this payment in the banking app, then try again.
What the store can do
Contact the customer; for a subscription, a quick email asking them to unblock or update the card usually solves it.
For developers
The payment comes back with status Declined, response_code 2009G and a response_summary such as "Blocked by cardholder / contact cardholder" (Checkout.com notes the text can vary by endpoint).
