What PlatformDTC does
PlatformDTC does not connect to Braintree. PlatformDTC prices every order from the cart on its own servers rather than accepting amounts or item data from the browser, so the SKU formatting rules of a Braintree integration do not apply there.
Why it happens
Item data sent with the transaction, such as Level 2/3 data, contained a SKU in the wrong format.
What the store can do
Correct the SKU format in your integration and resubmit.
For developers
Braintree returns processor_response_code 2049 with processor_response_text “Invalid SKU Number” and processor_response_type “hard_declined” on the Transaction object.
