What PlatformDTC does
PlatformDTC does not connect to Braintree. On its Stripe checkout PlatformDTC sorts each refusal into never, once, temporary or funds using both Stripe's code and the raw issuer code, so a card problem like this stops retries while a bank outage is retried on a short schedule.
Why it happens
Braintree does not say more than a card issue or a temporary bank problem.
What the store can do
Offer another payment method.
For developers
Braintree returns processor_response_code 2050 with processor_response_text “Invalid Credit Plan” and processor_response_type “hard_declined” on the Transaction object.
