What does Adyen refusal reason 32 “AVS Declined” mean?
Checked
Adyen refusal reason 32, "AVS Declined", means the address data the shopper entered is incorrect: it does not match the billing address held by the card issuer. The shopper should re-enter the billing address and postcode exactly as on their card statement. Retrying the same address will fail the same way.

What PlatformDTC does
PlatformDTC does not connect to Adyen; its checkout runs on Stripe and PayPal. The matching Stripe answers are incorrect_address and incorrect_zip; PlatformDTC's checkout never reroutes them to a backup processor, because the shopper needs to correct the address, and a renewal declined this way is never retried: the customer is asked to update the card.
Why it happens
Address verification compares the street number and postcode with the issuer's records. A recent move or entering the delivery address as billing address causes mismatches.
What the shopper can do
Use the billing address from your card statement, including the postcode.
What the store can do
Many issuers outside the US, Canada and the UK do not fully support address checks, so refusing every partial match can block good international customers.
