Adyen · Decline codes
What does Adyen refusal reason 27 “Declined Non Generic” mean?
Checked
Adyen refusal reason 27, "Declined Non Generic", collects response codes that cannot be reliably mapped to another refusal reason. Adyen separates it so you can tell generic declines, such as Mastercard 05 Do not honor, from more specific ones. The real reason is in the raw response; enable raw acquirer results to decide whether a retry is allowed.

What PlatformDTC does
PlatformDTC does not connect to Adyen; its checkout runs on Stripe and PayPal. Its Stripe rail reads the raw issuer code under every label, so a specific refusal is handled by its real code: Visa 59 suspected fraud, for example, is never retried even when labelled do_not_honor.
Why it happens
Schemes and issuers send many raw codes. Those that fit no named refusal reason, but are not plain generic declines, land in 27.
What the shopper can do
Try a different card, or ask your bank why the payment was declined.
What the store can do
Turn on raw acquirer results in the Customer Area. The raw code decides the Visa retry category; category 1 codes must never be retried.
