FPX for online stores: how Malaysian shoppers pay by bank
Checked
FPX (Financial Process Exchange) is Malaysia's online banking payment, run by PayNet with Malaysian banks. The shopper picks their bank at checkout, signs in to online banking or the bank app, and approves. Consumer payments run from RM1 to RM30,000, confirm immediately and settle within five business days. FPX has no chargebacks and no recurring payments, and on Stripe only Malaysian businesses with a business registration number can accept it.

What PlatformDTC does
PlatformDTC checkout does not offer FPX today. Malaysian shoppers can pay by card, PayPal in US dollars or another of its 22 currencies (not ringgit), or Apple Pay and Google Pay where their bank supports them.
How a shopper pays with FPX
The shopper selects FPX and their bank on your payment page, is redirected to the bank (or its app on mobile), signs in and completes the bank's approval steps. They then return to your page, where a consumer payment shows as successful at once.
What it means for your store
FPX has no chargeback process: if a shopper contacts their bank, the bank sends them back to you. Refunds are sent as a separate bank credit and can take weeks, so set customer expectations. Stripe only offers FPX to Malaysian Stripe accounts, and you must provide your Business Registration Number to take payments and receive payouts.
