What PlatformDTC does

For Checkout.com 20075, PlatformDTC's checkout does not offer PayPal card fields or any backup processor. Unlisted codes never reroute, because guessing wrong costs more than the one recovery it might win. A subscription renewal declined with 20075 is never retried: the subscription is held past due and the customer is emailed a link to add a new card.

Why it happens

The PIN lock was set by earlier wrong PIN entries, often at a shop or ATM, and now blocks this payment too.

What the shopper can do

Ask the bank to reset the PIN lock, or pay with another card.

What the store can do

Offer alternatives. Retrying online does not reset a PIN lock.

For developers

The payment comes back with status Declined, response_code 20075 and a response_summary such as "Allowable PIN-entry tries exceeded" (Checkout.com notes the text can vary by endpoint). Checkout.com's Visa table puts this code in category 2, which it pairs with recommendation code 02 (try again later); read processing.recommendation_code on the response.

Frequently asked questions

Why would an online store see Checkout.com 20075?
The lock sits on the card itself, so it can block a card-not-present payment even though no PIN was asked.
Can I retry 20075?
Visa allows category 2 retries, but nothing changes until the bank resets the lock.
