What does Checkout.com 20013 “Invalid value/amount” mean?
Checked
Checkout.com 20013 "Invalid value/amount" means the payment failed because the amount was not accepted. Checkout.com calls it a technical issue and says to request support if it persists. Most often the total, its currency or its formatting does not fit what the card network expects, so the store should check what it sent.

What PlatformDTC does
PlatformDTC treats 20013 from Checkout.com as final for that card. Checkout will not move the payment to a backup processor; the shopper needs a different card or corrected details. Checkout.com 20013 is not yet in PlatformDTC's renewal table, so a renewal declined with it follows the store's normal retry schedule and is logged so it can be classified.
Why it happens
Zero or negative totals, amounts with the wrong number of decimals for the currency, or a value above what the card allows can all come back as an invalid amount.
What the shopper can do
If the total looks right, try once more or use another card. Large purchases may need the bank to raise a limit.
What the store can do
Look at the exact amount and currency on the declined payment in the Checkout.com Dashboard and fix the cart or currency rounding if it is off.
For developers
The payment comes back with status Declined, response_code 20013 and a response_summary such as "Invalid value/amount" (Checkout.com notes the text can vary by endpoint). Checkout.com's Visa table puts this code in category 4, which it pairs with recommendation code 02 (try again later); read processing.recommendation_code on the response.
Frequently asked questions
- Does 20013 mean the card has no money?
