What does Braintree 2047 “Call Issuer. Pick Up Card” mean?
Checked
Braintree 2047 “Call Issuer. Pick Up Card” means the card was reported lost or stolen and the bank asks merchants to keep it and call. An online store has no physical card, so the only step is to ask for a different payment method. It is a hard decline in Visa category 1: never retry.

What PlatformDTC does
PlatformDTC does not connect to Braintree. The same answer on Stripe is pickup_card (Visa 04 or 07 at network level), all on PlatformDTC's never-retry list: no renewal retry, no backup processor, and a request to update the card.
Why it happens
A pick-up response means the issuer wants the card out of circulation, usually after a lost or stolen report.
What the store can do
Do not retry. Ask for another payment method, and be careful with the order if other risk signs are present.
For developers
Braintree returns processor_response_code 2047 with processor_response_text “Call Issuer. Pick Up Card” and processor_response_type “hard_declined” on the Transaction object. Braintree maps it to Visa category 1 (issuer will never approve): Visa fines every retry of the same card.
