What PlatformDTC does
PlatformDTC does not connect to Braintree. On its Stripe checkout Stripe blocks the same card itself after an issuer says stop (previously_declined_do_not_retry), and PlatformDTC lists that as never-retry: the renewal is held and the subscriber asked for another card.
Why it happens
The issuer refuses this card for this transaction and asks that you stop trying.
What the store can do
Remove the card from automatic retries and ask the customer for another payment method.
For developers
Braintree returns processor_response_code 2043 with processor_response_text “Error – Do Not Retry, Call Issuer” and processor_response_type “hard_declined” on the Transaction object.
