What PlatformDTC does

For Checkout.com 20152, PlatformDTC's checkout does not offer PayPal card fields or any backup processor. Unlisted codes never reroute, because guessing wrong costs more than the one recovery it might win. A subscription renewal declined with 20152 is not retried without the customer: they get an email asking them to confirm the payment with their bank.

Why it happens

The shopper left the verification window open, switched apps, or lost connection, and the 15-minute limit passed.

What the shopper can do

Start checkout again and complete the bank's check straight away.

What the store can do

Prompt a fresh attempt. No retry limits apply to an expired session in the way they do to bank refusals.

For developers

The payment comes back with status Declined, response_code 20152 and a response_summary such as "Initial 3DS transaction not completed within 15 minutes" (Checkout.com notes the text can vary by endpoint). Checkout.com's Visa table puts this code in category 4, which it pairs with recommendation code 02 (try again later); read processing.recommendation_code on the response.
