What PlatformDTC does

Checkout.com 20150 is not in PlatformDTC's reroute table, and PlatformDTC never reroutes a code it has not classified: checkout shows the decline instead of sending the card to a backup processor. Checkout.com 20150 is not yet in PlatformDTC's renewal table, so a renewal declined with it follows the store's normal retry schedule and is logged so it can be classified.

Why it happens

3-D Secure depends on the issuer enrolling the card. Cards that are not enrolled cannot complete the check.

What the shopper can do

Pay with another card, or ask the bank to enable online payment verification.

What the store can do

Offer PayPal or another method so the sale is not lost.

For developers

The payment comes back with status Declined, response_code 20150 and a response_summary such as "Card not 3D Secure (3DS) enabled" (Checkout.com notes the text can vary by endpoint). Checkout.com's Visa table puts this code in category 4, which it pairs with recommendation code 02 (try again later); read processing.recommendation_code on the response.
