TWINT for online stores: how Swiss shoppers pay with TWINT
Checked
TWINT is Switzerland's mobile payment app. On a computer the shopper scans a QR code with their TWINT app; on a phone they switch to the TWINT app of their Swiss bank and approve. The result is immediate. Payments are in Swiss francs from CHF 0.50 to CHF 5,000. TWINT can be saved for later charges, supports disputes, and allows refunds for 180 days. Stripe requires stores to show prices in francs and ship to Switzerland.

What PlatformDTC does
PlatformDTC checkout does not offer TWINT today; Swiss shoppers can pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal in francs, or Klarna on one-time orders up to CHF 5,000.
How a shopper pays with TWINT
The shopper chooses TWINT and lands on a TWINT page. On desktop it shows a QR code to scan; on mobile the shopper picks their TWINT app (each Swiss bank has its own) and approves there. They then return to your site with an immediate result.
Requirements for your store
- A working public website, not password-protected or unfinished.
- Your legal business name, legal form, full address and terms on the site, plus a contact email or phone.
- Prices shown in Swiss francs by the time the shopper reaches checkout.
- Switzerland offered as a shipping destination if you sell physical goods.
- TWINT can suspend merchants that break these rules.
Saved TWINT for repeat charges
A shopper can approve saving TWINT for future charges in the app. The mandate allows ad hoc charges with no fixed amount or schedule, and only one TWINT mandate can be active between a shopper and your business at a time. Shoppers can revoke it in their app.
