What PlatformDTC does

PlatformDTC does not connect to Braintree. On its own PayPal rail this is PAYER_CANNOT_PAY (payer and payee settings mean this buyer cannot pay this seller); PlatformDTC never retries it and waits for the customer to choose a different funding source.

Why it happens

A mismatch of buyer and seller settings, such as country or currency restrictions, or testing with your own business email.

What the store can do

Ask for another method; make sure you are not testing with your own business account.

For developers

Braintree returns processor_response_code 2076 with processor_response_text “Payer Cannot Pay For This Transaction With PayPal” and processor_response_type “hard_declined” on the Transaction object.
