A worked month

Assumptions: every sale an online card payment at Square's headline online rate for the United States (3.3% + $0.30), an average order of $50, no refunds. Each line is rounded to the cent.

$10,000.00 in 200 orders: 3.3% of $10,000.00 = $330.00, plus 200 × $0.30 = $60.00. Total $390.00, or 3.90% of sales.

$50,000.00 in 1,000 orders: 3.3% of $50,000.00 = $1,650.00, plus 1,000 × $0.30 = $300.00. Total $1,950.00, or 3.90% of sales.

On Square Plus ($49 a month), the $10,000 month costs $350.00 in card fees plus the plan: $399.00. Square Free at 3.3% + $0.30 costs $390.00, so Plus only pays off on card fees above $12,250.00 of online sales a month.
