Braintree · Decline codes
What does Braintree 2088 “Currency not enabled for your PayPal seller account” mean?
Checked
Braintree 2088 “Currency not enabled for your PayPal seller account” means your PayPal account does not support this currency yet. It is a hard decline. Braintree says you can accept more currencies by updating your PayPal profile. Until then, buyers paying in that currency need another method.

What PlatformDTC does
PlatformDTC does not connect to Braintree; its PayPal rail talks to PayPal directly, so the currencies a store's PayPal account accepts limit its PayPal checkout there too.
Why it happens
The order currency is not enabled on your PayPal account.
What the store can do
Add the currency in your PayPal profile.
For developers
Braintree returns processor_response_code 2088 with processor_response_text “Currency not enabled for your PayPal seller account” and processor_response_type “hard_declined” on the Transaction object.
