Scalapay for online stores: countries, plans and capture
Checked
Scalapay is a European buy now, pay later method that lets shoppers pay for an order in installments. Its developer docs list the authorised countries as Austria, Belgium, Finland, France and its overseas departments, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain, with the euro as the only currency. Products include pay in 3, pay in 4 and pay later. Stores can capture payment immediately or delay capture until the item ships, and Scalapay settles to the store's bank account.

What PlatformDTC does
PlatformDTC checkout does not offer Scalapay today. Shoppers in Italy, France and Portugal can use Klarna on one-time orders up to €4,000, in Spain, Germany, Austria, Belgium and Finland up to €10,000, in the Netherlands up to €5,000; in the French overseas departments, cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal in euros remain.
How Scalapay works
Scalapay recommends showing its message on the product page, the cart page and at checkout. When the shopper chooses Scalapay, the store creates an order and the shopper is sent to Scalapay's checkout to authorise the payment, then returns to the store.
Immediate or delayed capture
With the immediate flow, the store captures the whole amount with one call and the order is settled to its bank account. With the delayed flow, the store captures later, for example once the item is in stock and shipped; Scalapay then creates the shopper's invoice and settles the money when the capture happens.
