PayPal Pay Later for online stores: who sees it and how it works
Checked
PayPal Pay Later is PayPal's own buy now, pay later financing, offered inside the PayPal checkout. What a shopper sees depends on their country: pay in 4 in the US, Australia and Canada; pay in 3 in Italy, Spain and the UK; pay in 4X in France; pay in 30 days in Germany and the UK; and longer monthly plans in several markets. PayPal says the merchant is paid upfront. Recurring and reference-transaction integrations are not eligible for Pay Later.

What PlatformDTC does
PlatformDTC checkout does not add Pay Later itself. On stores that connect their own PayPal account and don't take cards through PayPal card fields, PayPal's button can show Pay Later to shoppers PayPal finds eligible. PayPal Credit is switched off on PlatformDTC checkout.
Pay Later plans by country
PayPal sets the plans per country, and the shopper's eligibility is PayPal's decision. Pay Monthly in the US is subject to credit approval.

Pay Later versus PayPal Credit on PlatformDTC
PayPal Credit is a separate PayPal funding option, and PlatformDTC checkout switches it off in every PayPal button. Pay Later is not added or forced by PlatformDTC; on stores without PayPal card fields, PayPal's own button decides whether to show it. On stores that take cards through PayPal card fields, the PayPal button is limited to paying with a PayPal account, so Pay Later does not appear there.
