DTCPay: one-tap checkout for returning shoppers

DTCPay lets shoppers save their card, address and contact details once and check out in one tap on every PlatformDTC store that uses it.

DTCPay is rolling out in phases, starting as a controlled test on selected stores.

New for shoppers

  • Save my information for a faster checkout. Just before the Pay button, for every payment method, checkout shows "By paying, you agree to create a DTCPay account subject to DTCPay's Terms and Privacy Policy" with a Not now opt-out. Unless they opt out, the shopper's DTCPay account is created automatically after the payment with their contact details and address, plus their card if they typed one in (Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal are never saved). A welcome email carries a Didn't create this? Remove it link. A new device needs a 6-digit code or a passkey.

  • Track your order in the DTCPay app. After every paid order, the thank-you page offers Get the app to follow the order at pay.platformdtc.com with delivery notifications. No DTCPay account needed.

  • Pay with DTCPay. On the same device, a returning shopper lands on checkout with email, address, shipping and card filled in, and one Pay with DTCPay button. Every purchase still needs that tap, and the card's bank can still ask for 3D Secure. Not you? signs the device out. On a new device or another store, the shopper confirms a 6-digit code.

  • pay.platformdtc.com. Shoppers see and remove their saved cards, sign devices out, see their orders and delete their DTCPay account. The terms are at platformdtc.com/legal/dtcpay.

  • Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal are unchanged and still offered next to DTCPay. DTCPay saves cards only.

  • DTCPay settings in Settings → Payment provider: DTCPay on your store, the DTCPay app offer on the thank-you page, and Buy with DTCPay on product pages for recognised shoppers. All three are on by default. The card tokenisation status for your store is shown read-only.

  • DTCPay app block on the thank-you page in the Checkout Editor.

  • Safety switch. While card tokenisation runs as a split test, it turns off automatically for a store if the tokenised half does worse by more than 2 percentage points on declines, 3D Secure challenges or payment errors, or is more than 800 ms slower to pay.

  • Orders paid with DTCPay show DTCPay as the wallet. Analytics → Payments has a DTCPay section with enrolment rate, recognised checkouts, conversion against guests who typed a card, and DTCPay's share of card payments.

  • DTCPay isn't available on stores that take cards through their own Stripe account (Stripe Card).
