Sales tax is now the Tax app

Sales tax now comes from the PlatformDTC Tax app in the App Store. Stores without it charge no tax.

  • App Store → PlatformDTC Tax: install it on a store to get Settings → Taxes and duties. Until then the page offers the install and your checkout never adds tax.
  • After installing, tax stays off until you finish Stripe Tax setup and switch it on, as before.
  • Uninstalling switches tax off at checkout immediately. Your settings and registrations are kept; reinstalling brings them back with tax switched off until you turn it on again.
  • The app adds a tax skill to your AI assistant.
For developers
  • The tax agent tools and /settings/taxes routes answer 403 TAX_APP_NOT_INSTALLED for a store without the Tax app.
