v1.43
Require 3D Secure on risky card payments
Checkout can now ask the card's bank to confirm the shopper when a payment looks like the ones that turn into fraud reports.
New
- Require 3D Secure on risky card payments (Settings → Automation). When the same card already paid an order in the last 24 hours, when an email pays with a different card than before, or after two declined attempts in one checkout, the shopper confirms the payment with their bank. On our stores these checkouts were about 6% of card payments and drew fraud reports at two to five times the usual rate. Apple Pay and Google Pay are never asked. See Fraud analysis.
- The Automation screen shows the result: how many checkouts were asked, how many paid, and which pattern triggered it. The order's Fraud analysis card says when 3D Secure was requested and why.
