v1.32

Build your theme with Claude Code, Codex or Cursor

Build and publish your storefront theme with the coding agent you already use — Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or any MCP client — against the same theme the dashboard editor opens.

Added

  • Theme MCP server at https://api.platformdtc.com/mcp/theme. Connect your agent, sign in to PlatformDTC in the browser, choose the store and the permissions to grant, and the agent gets 15 theme tools: list and create development themes, read the manifest and files, write and delete files, run theme check, get a preview link, publish, follow publish status, list versions and roll back. Sign-in is OAuth 2.1 with PKCE and dynamic client registration, so there is no client ID to copy.
  • Theme endpoints on the Agent Gateway: /themes, /themes/{id}/manifest, /themes/{id}/files, /themes/{id}/check, /themes/{id}/preview, /themes/{id}/publish, /themes/{id}/publish-status, /themes/{id}/versions and /themes/{id}/rollback, with the scopes read_themes, write_themes and publish_themes.
  • @platformdtc/cli: dtc login, and dtc theme init, list, pull, dev, push, check, share, publish, versions and rollback.
  • @platformdtc/dev-mcp: a local MCP server with the theme docs, the section schemas, theme check and a custom-section scaffold. It never touches your store.
  • Custom React sections. A section your agent writes in theme/custom/sections/<type>.tsx is registered as custom-<type>, appears in the theme editor's section picker, and renders the same in the preview and on the live store.
  • Theme check: nine rules — valid JSON and templates, imports that resolve, no overriding platform files, no placeholder links, text or empty images, a warning for hard-coded ratings and review counts, and TypeScript. The same check runs in the CLI, the local MCP server, the API and before every publish.
  • Settings → Developer → Build with your agent in the dashboard: setup instructions for each agent, the publish setting, and theme publishes waiting for approval.

Good to know

  • Publishing waits for you by default. A publish from an agent is held until you approve it. Choose Publish automatically under Agent theme publishing to change that.
  • Nothing is overwritten silently. Files the platform owns are refused when written, not reverted at publish, and a file changed since the agent read it is refused with CONFLICT instead of being overwritten.
  • Every write is a version you can roll back to.
  • Development themes that are not changed for 7 days are deleted.
