v1.26
Navigation menus, pages and blog posts
Build your store's menus, write pages and publish blog posts from the dashboard, under Online Store.
Added
- Navigation (Online Store → Navigation). Create menus of links to your home page, catalog, collections, products, pages, blogs, blog posts, policies or any web address. Nest links up to three levels and drag to reorder. Every store has a Main menu and a Footer menu, which can be edited but not deleted.
- Pages (Online Store → Pages). Write pages such as About us or a size guide in a rich text editor, choose whether each is visible, and set its search engine title, description and URL handle.
- Blog posts (Online Store → Blog posts). Create one or more blogs and publish posts with an author, excerpt, featured image and tags. The list shows posts from every blog, with filters for blog and visibility.
- API. Menus, pages, blogs and blog posts can be managed through the API with the new
read_content,write_content,read_online_store_navigationandwrite_online_store_navigationscopes, with webhooks for each change. See Online Store content.
Changed
- Landing pages. The sidebar entry for pages you build with the page builder is now called Landing pages. Pages is the new content pages list.
Good to know
- Theme support. Menus, pages and blog posts are shown by themes built with the new theme editor whose sections use them — a header or footer that shows a menu, a page section, or a blog section.
- No publish needed. Saved changes reach your live store within a short while without publishing your theme again.
- Links never go nowhere. A menu link to a product, collection, page or post that is deleted or hidden disappears from your store and is flagged in the menu editor so you can fix it.
- URL handles stay put. Renaming a page, blog or post doesn't change its address.
- No scheduling. A page or post is visible as soon as you publish it; a future publish date can't be saved.
