v1.27

Import a theme from Shopify

Bring a theme from your Shopify store into Themes 2: its templates, header, footer, theme settings and images come over as they are, as a new unpublished theme.

Added

  • Import from Shopify (Themes 2 → Import from Shopify). Connect your Shopify store, pick any of its themes, and import it into a new unpublished theme or into an existing Themes 2 theme.
  • Analyze first. Run an analysis that converts the theme and shows the full report without creating a theme, copying images or saving anything.
  • What comes over. Every JSON template including alternate templates, the header and footer section groups, and theme settings — with section settings, blocks, their order and hidden state exactly as in Shopify. Images the theme uses are copied to PlatformDTC, and links to your collections, products, pages and blogs point at your storefront's own addresses.
  • Ported themes. Sections from Silent Scale PRO map to their PlatformDTC equivalents. Sections from other themes are kept, render nothing, and are flagged in the theme editor and the report.
  • Report. Lists everything that wasn't imported and why: Liquid and customer account templates, market-specific header and footer variants, Shopify app blocks and app embeds, per-section custom CSS, licence settings, and videos stored in Shopify.
  • Custom code review. Custom Liquid and HTML that tampers with buyer consent, rewrites or hides prices, hides subscription terms, invents social proof or runs urgency countdowns is flagged. Flagged code is imported empty by default, and you can choose per item.

Good to know

  • Read-only on Shopify. Only the read_themes scope is needed. Since January 1, 2026 new Shopify apps are created in Shopify's Dev Dashboard; custom apps created earlier in the Shopify admin also work.
  • Credentials aren't kept. They are encrypted while the import runs, deleted when it finishes, and never logged.
  • Nothing goes live until you publish. Importing again into the same theme replaces the imported parts and saves a new version, so earlier versions can be restored; images already copied are reused.
  • One at a time. One import runs per store at a time.
