v1.23

PlatformDTC POS

Sell in person with PlatformDTC POS: card payments on a countertop smart reader, cash with a cash drawer, and every sale in the same Orders and Customers as your online store.

Added

  • Point of Sale in the dashboard. Build a sale from your catalog or with custom items, apply a percentage or fixed discount to the cart, and attach an existing customer or create a new one. Tax is added at the location's tax rate.
  • Card payments on a reader. Pair a countertop smart reader to a location with the pairing code shown in the reader's settings, then send the amount to it. A declined card can be tried again, and a payment can be canceled on the reader.
  • Cash and split payments. Take cash with the change worked out for you, or split a sale across cash and one or more cards.
  • Cash drawer. Open a drawer per location with a float, record pay ins and pay outs, and close it by counting — PlatformDTC shows expected cash, counted cash and the difference, with a summary of the session.
  • Receipts by email or printed.
  • Refunds to the original card or in cash, in full or in part, with the option to restock the items.
  • Locations. Run several locations, each with its own address, tax rate, readers, cash drawer and an optional inventory location that in-person sales take stock from.

Good to know

  • Orders. A completed sale becomes a paid, fulfilled order tagged Point of Sale in Orders. It gets your receipt instead of the online order-confirmation email.
  • Pricing. In-person card payments are charged your plan's card rate, the same as online card payments. See Payment fees and rates.
  • Requirements. POS needs PlatformDTC Payments set up with card payments active, and an internet connection — there is no offline mode. Readers are supplied through sales.
