v1.62
A cleaner, step-by-step checkout
Checkout now walks shoppers through numbered steps, with less on the page competing with the Pay button.
Changed for shoppers
- Numbered steps. Contact, Delivery, Shipping method and Payment each sit on their own card, numbered in your button colour. The card being filled in is outlined, and Contact shows a check once the email is valid.
- Order summary card. On desktop the summary is a card titled Order summary with the item count, and stays in view while the shopper scrolls.
- Express buttons full width. A single PayPal, Apple Pay or Google Pay button now spans the column instead of sitting as a small button in the middle.
- Discount field always visible. Shoppers type a code straight into the summary; Apply switches to your button colour once there is a code to apply.
- Pay button. Shows a lock and uses your button colour, with no heavy drop shadow.
- Footer. Your store name, store links and policies sit in one band at the bottom of the page, matching the header.
Removed
- Repeated trust lines. The "Secure SSL encrypted checkout" line and the second row of card logos above the Pay button are gone. The Payment section already says transactions are secure, and the card field shows the logos.
- Money-back line under Pay. Checkout used to show "30-day money-back guarantee" on every store, whether or not the store offers one. A guarantee you add as a block in the Checkout Editor still shows.
Your branding colours, font and Checkout Editor blocks are unchanged; the new layout is drawn from them.
