v1.50

Install the CLI with one command

The PlatformDTC CLI now installs with one command and no Node.js or npm. It works like the Deno and Bun installers.

New for developers

  • One-line install. curl -fsSL https://platformdtc.com/cli/install.sh | sh on macOS and Linux, irm https://platformdtc.com/cli/install.ps1 | iex in Windows PowerShell. The installer picks the build for your computer, verifies its SHA-256 checksum, installs it to ~/.platformdtc/bin and adds it to your PATH, without sudo or administrator rights. See Install.
  • Builds for every common machine. macOS on Apple silicon and Intel, Linux x64 and arm64 (Alpine included), and Windows x64.
  • dtc upgrade. Updates the CLI in place after verifying the download, or installs an exact version with dtc upgrade <version>. dtc mentions a new version once at the end of a command, at most once a day.

Fixed: the docs told developers to run npm install -g @platformdtc/cli, a package that was never published to npm, so that command failed.

Unchanged: every dtc theme and dtc app command works exactly as before. Apps created with dtc app init are still Node.js projects.
