v1.39

Conversion rate counts online store purchases only

Your conversion rate now measures what your storefront earned.

Fixed

  • Subscription renewals no longer count as conversions. A renewal is charged by the billing engine on the plan's own clock, with nobody browsing, so it never converted a visit — but it was being divided into your sessions all the same. On a store selling plans that read the storefront as better at converting than it is: across the platform, 2,242 of 13,430 paid orders in the last 90 days were renewals.
  • Point of Sale orders are out of the numerator too, for the same reason: a sale rung up at a terminal had no session.
  • The checkout that starts a plan still counts. A customer placed it themselves, in a session, so it converted one.
  • Every screen changed together — the dashboard tile and its trend chart, Analytics Overview, Sales, Live View, and the peer benchmark bands — so no two of them can disagree about what a conversion is.

Unchanged

  • Orders, sales and average order value. A renewal is a real order and still counts as one everywhere it always did. Only the metrics with sessions underneath them changed.

Expect your conversion rate to read lower than it did yesterday if you sell subscriptions. The rate did not fall; the wrong orders were in it.
