v1.186
PayPal Card Processing is its own connection
PayPal now shows up as two providers: PayPal Express Checkout for the PayPal button, and PayPal Card Processing for the cards shoppers type into your checkout.
New
- PayPal Card Processing. Connect a PayPal app that PayPal approved for card payments under Settings → Payments → Third-party payment providers → PayPal Card Processing. The page shows the steps to create the app, then asks for its Client ID and Secret. Shoppers type their card right in your checkout and PayPal processes it. See PayPal Card Processing.
- Use for: Main card processor, Backup or Off. Pick Backup when a card is declined or card payments are down to keep your card provider: if card payments stop working or a card is declined, we try again with PayPal.
- Card payments: approved / not approved yet, with a Check again button, so you can see whether PayPal approved card payments for your app.
Changed
- PayPal is now called PayPal Express Checkout in Payments. It works the same.
- The provider list shows both PayPal connections with Connected, Not connected or Not approved for cards yet.
- "Take card payments through PayPal" and the PayPal backup switch moved from under the PayPal button to the PayPal Card Processing page.
