v1.185
Take card payments through PayPal
PayPal can now process the cards shoppers type into your checkout, or step in when your card provider stops working.
New
- Take card payments through PayPal. In Settings → Payments, under PayPal, turn on Take card payments through PayPal. Shoppers still type their card on your checkout, PayPal processes it, and the card is saved so subscriptions renew. See Take card payments through PayPal.
- PayPal as a backup. Keep your card provider and turn on If card payments stop working, switch to PayPal. When your card provider can't take a card, the payment goes through PayPal instead. Works with PlatformDTC Payments, your own Stripe account, Authorize.Net, NMI and the other card providers. See PayPal as a backup.
Worth knowing
- PayPal has to turn on card payments for your account first. We check with PayPal before either switch turns on. If it isn't on yet, select Turn it on in PayPal, finish PayPal's steps, then come back and try again.
- You can have one backup at a time, so turning on PayPal as the backup replaces an NMI or Authorize.Net backup.
