v1.184
Highest risk now finds the orders worth checking
The Highest risk level on your orders works again. It now marks the few orders most likely to be fraud, so you can check them before you ship.
Changed
- Highest risk now means Stripe's own fraud check rated the payment high risk, or another customer used the same IP address or card number on a hand-typed US card without 3D Secure. That's about 1 order in 400, and on our stores about 1 in 6 of them were later reported as fraud, against 1 in 100 normal orders. Before, Highest needed two warnings at once and almost never happened. See Fraud analysis.
- The same card paying several orders in a week for the same customer is now Elevated, not Highest. Most of those are real customers ordering again.
- Fraud analysis shows a new line when Stripe's fraud check rated the payment high risk, and when another customer paid with the same card number.
Worth knowing
- Cancel and refund Highest-risk orders and Block Highest-risk customers act on their own only when Stripe rated the payment highest risk, on orders from the last 7 days. Other Highest orders wait for you to review them under Orders → Risk level: Highest.
