Know the moment someone can't pay you
If someone tries to check out while your payments are still off, we email you that hour — so you can turn payments on before the next shopper comes.
New
- "Someone tried to check out on your store and couldn't pay" email. Until payments are on, checkout shows "This store isn't taking payments yet" and can't take a card. Now you hear about it within 15 minutes, with one button to turn payments on (about 3 minutes). At most one email a day, 5 in all, and none once payments are on.
Changed
- The "Turn on payments" reminder says it plainly: shoppers can't buy from your store until payments are on.
- US owners with an EIN see a note on the payments form: pick Sole proprietorship or Company and enter your EIN as the business tax ID.
